Aloo Ji Tiki
Crispy Spiced Potato Patties — a beloved Sindhi snack
Ingredients
| Potatoes, medium | 5–6 |
| Oil for deep frying | |
| Red chilli powder | 1 tsp |
| Dry mango powder (amchur) | 1 tsp |
| Coriander powder | 1½ tsp |
| Salt to taste |
Method
Peel the potatoes and cut them into 2-inch thick slices (approximately 3 pieces per potato). Deep fry the potatoes. When they are half done, remove and place on paper towels. Take one piece at a time, place on your palm, and gently press it flat. Deep fry again until the potatoes are crisp and golden.
Sprinkle red chilli powder, dry mango powder, coriander powder, and salt over the tikis.
Serve immediately while crisp.
Easier method: Boil the potatoes instead of frying the first time. Cut into pieces, gently press flat, then deep fry until crisp. Sprinkle spices and serve.
